So You've Got This Business...
You have this business but you are not sure what you are going to do with it. You made it through the recessions and the ups and downs with the economy. Because of all the crazy, you are now officially burnt out and you don't know what to do next.
Today, I wanted to let you in on what we at Adelboden are focused on achieving in the next 10 years. We are in search of “boring businesses” in which the owner doesn't have anyone to take over the company, it’s now time to sell, but due to being stagnant, they can't receive the value they want for the business. Like any good investor, we are always looking to buy undervalued companies, come in, and make the necessary changes to help them grow and reach their full potential.

To us, these businesses are investments that will one day be sold again. It is our job to prepare them to be sold off. The first thing a prospective buyer is going to look at is if the business is growing or dying. Needless to say, we want to make sure that our businesses are always growing.
To kickstart the needed growth, we will always start by purchasing a rebranding kit from our partners. This includes updated logos, photography + videography sessions, an updated website, and updated social channels. We then invest heavily in the unique lead flow channels that have worked for the company in it’s past while also running tests on other potential channels for lead flow.
Once we have a good handle on pumping in leads, we will start to focus on the sales process. You want to make it as efficient and easy as possible for someone to give you their money. We take the time to study what is currently working and then focus on any pain points that we spot in the process. From there, we begin troubleshooting to develop a better process.
Building your lead funnel and achieving more sales and growth pushes the business to solve the next problem which is how to scale the product or service you provide. This is different in every business, but the problem is always the same - scalability. Scalability is usually a combination of hiring, purchasing equipment, and finding technology to streamline the business in its entirety.
Now this process is easily laid out but it can be very difficult to bring it into reality. We get that and we also get that it’s easy to stare at a problem and get lost. If you want to get the most for your business when it is time to sell then now is the time to start working on it.
